Wentao Huang, Designer

It's Week 3 of our five-week Fresh Faces Friday series, and today we're introducing you to Designer (and former co-op), Wentao (Wendell) Huang.

A native of China, Wentao studied Architecture, Urban Planning, and design at Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, before earning is Master of Fine Arts in Themed Entertainment Design at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). During his time at SCAD, he completed a co-op assignment as a JRA Design Intern and Assistant Art Director. Upon graduation last summer, JRA hired him as a full-time member of our dynamic design team.

Wentao's work at JRA thus far includes the Appelton Estate Rum Experience in Jamaica, American Airlines' CR Smith Museum in Texas, and brand and museum projects in the United States and Middle East. His fields of competence include concept art, exhibition design, motion media design, environment design, graphic design, museum architecture design, and production design. Given JRA’s growing cadre of international projects, Wentao’s fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese is an invaluable asset to the studio.

"We are excited to have Wendell here at JRA not only for his talent but his enthusiasm for our industry," said JRA Art Director, David Ferguson. "Wendell introduces a new level of texture and diversity to the JRA team. His vast knowledge of the Asian culture as well as his interest in the interactions of designer and client brings us a better understanding of how we can better serve our projects as they develop."

In addition to his beautiful renderings, Wendell has brought a fresh perspective to JRA, and we couldn't be happier to have him in our studio.
