The beloved film character of Forrest Gump was the inspiration for this themed restaurant, which opened in June 2003. Kings Island hired JRA to help bring Forrest’s world to life.

Using the 1994 Academy Award-winning Paramount movie as a touchstone, JRA designers, with assistance from the Parks’ Design & Entertainment group, decided that Forrest would decorate a restaurant of his own as a scrapbook, one that emphasized the helpful people and significant events in his life. Both the interior and exterior of the building offer guests several quick, tight visual encounters with Forrest, while the restaurant, overall, recalls the taste and feel of a 1970s coastal eatery with retro signage, nostalgic lighting, nautical murals and oceanic delicacies. Each of these elements works to create a fun attraction that complements the total Kings Island experience.
