Project Description:
The King Salman Science Oasis (K-SSO), a major new science museum for Riyadh, will be a unique experience, combining science, culture, nature, commerce and faith. The goal of the new science center is to improve awareness of science and to improve scientific knowledge and its practical application toward the benefit of mankind.
Saudi Aramco tasked JRA with positioning their two Energy Experience Galleries within the K-SSO – Kingdom of Energy Gallery and the World of Energy Gallery – collectively as a new kind of science centre experience. Through a variety of immersive environments, beautiful displays, exciting exhibits and dynamic media presentations, these galleries take guest on a half-billion-year quest for the ultimate energy solution. They also showcase the wonders of petroleum and energy science, tell the petroleum story with equal parts accuracy and passion, honor Saudi Arabia’s proud heritage, and empower audiences to find their place in the Kingdom’s future energy story.
In a youth-friendly, interactive quest, the Energy Experience Galleries bring to light the connections between petroleum and you, energy and you, science and you. Through multiple levels and “windows,” they convey a sense of the complexity and wonderment of the energy world and energy industry, without requiring an in-depth understanding of their intricacies. They seek to inspire and celebrate, to foster a thirst for knowledge, and to endow a commitment to preserving the Earth’s irreplaceable natural assets.
