Project Description:

From tumbleweed towns to tropical threehouses to superhero cities, JRA has enjoyed planning and designing several themed areas for Six Flags theme parks across the United States.

At Six Flags Over Texas, JRA used themed architecture, detailed facades, authentic props and environmental signage to re-create a deserted Texas oil town of the late 1800s. This “Boomtown” serves as a thematic link to the adjacent Gotham/D.C. Comics area, where visitors will find JRA’s design handprint on the theme park’s Mr. Freeze Rollercoaster.

Mr. Freeze, the villain of the hit Warner Bros. movie “Batman and Robin”, has set up a covert cryogenics lab within Snowy’s Ice Cream Factory. After a chilly wait in the queue line, visitors blast through a 190-foot icy tunnel at nearly 70 miles per hour. They are then hurled through 1,300 feet of diving, twisting, track before they are sent back to the icy tunnel - in reverse! Theme park enthusiasts at Six Flags St. Louis can also experience this thrilling coaster adventure, along with an entire Gotham-themed land master planned and designed by JRA.

Those looking to make a splash on their vacation can head to Six Flags White Water near Atlanta, where they’ll find the JRA designed Treehouse Island. Boasting over 75 interactive water play features, and accommodating over 500 guests at one time, Treehouse Island entertains and challenges visitors of all ages.
